Getting to Chamonix

By Air

The nearest airport is Geneva, about an hour’s drive from Chamonix. Flights can be booked directly with airlines online. We can arrange transfers from Geneva using our recommended private transfer service Mountain Drop Offs or you may choose to hire a car or take a bus.

By Car

Driving to Chamonix is straightforward. From the UK the journey from Calais takes around eight hours, mostly via autoroutes followed by a dual carriageway into the valley. There is ample parking at many of our properties. For information on required documents and safety equipment, see the Driving in France Checklist.

There is also a Europcar office by the station if you wish to hire a car for a couple of days.

Local Transport

Chamonix has a reliable bus network that serves the whole Chamonix valley, tourist sites and ski areas. There is free access for ski pass holders and half price for guest Carte d’Hôte (Guest Card) holders. You can find your guest cards in the chalet on your arrival.

A scenic train service runs along the entire Chamonix valley from St Gervais-les-Bains - Le Fayet to Martigny in Switzerland. All trains run daily all year round and is free for Carte d’Hôte (Guest Card) holders between Servoz and Vallorcine.

Minibus Service

You can upgrade to a mini-bus service providing a morning drop-off at the slopes and a late afternoon collection to return you to the chalet. To find out more, please contact the UK office.
